With some 20 entries trying to make it into an eight-car field, some drivers pushed too hard, like Joe Shrembri who grenaded an engine on this qualifying pass.

Charlie Micali picked up where he left off, attaining the Australian Champion- ship by winning the Super- charged Outlaws bracket.

Joe Gauchi was trying to make it through to the Supercharged Outlaws bracket when he got out of shape on this burnout in his Holden panel van and crossed over the centreline.


The Holden FE ute of Wick Dayman got right out of shape on this qualifier, but eneded up going all the way to the semis in the Competition bracket.
In closing, I must apologize for the quality of the photos. All the pro brackets were run after twilight and with little wind the flash would pick up the burnout smoke still hanging in the air – instantly wiping out more than half of my frames. The photographer in me finds no daylight fuel runs as attractive as taking photos of Pamela Anderson in the dark – you know how good it could be but you just can’t get the best out of it. ![]()
