Mike Nordahl, who is leading the charge in Open Comp so far this year, ran three different classes, which is possible in PSCA racing if you have the right combination. Mike is on the
circuit for the first time full time this year, and has owned his 1975 Black Vega for over 15 years. He ran Open Comp, Index, and Trophy class at Vegas. Yes, Mike has raced the Vega over the past decade but is NOW only on the race track if you get my drift. It’s capable of running 9,50 at over 151, but he sticks with the 10.60 index type bracket for consistency.
A couple of other feature racers that race in more than one class were Dan Rheame and his Double Trouble Ranchero out of Kingman, AZ, and Charlie Boyd's awesome wheelstanding Camaro.
Classes were Trophy and Bracket 1, with local race Ken McDaniel in his 1965 GTO winning the Trophy class, over Utah's Scott Parsons, and Becky Pluegar won Bracket 1 over Steve Bushey who red-lighted.

Of special note was Steve Macklyn and his brand new Funny Car team. Terry Manzer and his large crew of Utah's finest racers got Steve licensed first time out at LVMS with a fine 5.19, 297 mph backed up with four other 5-second passes. Steve is no stranger to racing having raced monster trucks, sprint cars, quads, and an Alcohol Funny Car for the past 15 years.

Jet car guys Richard Smith, Richard Bromley, Dain Bays, and the team Zaccaro jet dragsters, along with two crazy guys on the free-style quads, entertained the large crowd at the event.
