Scott Oksas had quite a weekend in True Street, he won the honors on Saturday, then went on to annex Sunday’s show too over the reigning Champion, Manny Figueroa. Both in a pair of Mustangs, Scott turned in a strong 8.281, 169.47 mph while Manny's mount had problems and shut off way early. Oksas was also the quickest and fastest of the breed at 8.311 and 170.39 mph.

Heavy Street Eliminator went to Big Heath Johnson who surprised everyone with a short haircut, as Heath had hair down to the waist for quite sometime. Heath was a little late on the tree, but still managed a win at 8.645, 189.82 mph with his blown Camaro over Steve Collins’s immaculate 1966 Purple Chevelle's 7.849, 177.98 mph.

Wild Street went to a guy who has really got his act together lately -- Dee Pfinster from Peoria, AZ. And by the way, he has one of the most interesting set ups for nitrous this reporter has ever seen. It’s a Zex nitrous system with luminous lights, which change the nitrous colors as he purges (although it's difficult to see in this photo). Pfinster ran a fine 8.371, 145.86 mph to defeat Kevin Wallauer’s “Rat Poison” which shut off early in the final round. Levi Hanna was Low ET at 8.26 with his Las Vegas-based Mustang.

Limited Street went to reigning champ Mike Saiki with his Corvette from Long Beach, CA. Saiki defeated Craig Williams with a 9.13 to 9.46 pairing. Young John Mitchell (George’s son) took home the honors in the large 10.60 index field. A 10.664 narrowly defeated Ron DeHoop at 10.668.

In the largest group of racers about 100 strong, Open Comp is always really tough. Fred Caufield and his beautiful Alta Loma, CA-based 1966 Nova not only won in Open Comp, but Quick Street also! He was one busy guy with the bright yellow Nova. He won in Open Comp with a 9.69 over Leonard Massey’s Plymouth Belvedere who red lit the Christmas tree. Then Fred won Quick Street with a 9.621,132.95 mph over Troy Lind from Palmdale, CA.
