Launching a ProCharger-blown 310-inch smallblock on 10.5 X 26 slicks entails using every bit of the sidewall as demonstrated by Mark Magnuson at the wheel of Justin Burcham’s ‘88 Mustang; Illinois pilot went to the NMRA Real Street final round with 10.20s at over 133.

Bruce Hemminger was amazing in NMRA’s Real Street division; with a 313-inch maximum and 10.5 X 26 slicks, his was the only machine under 10 seconds, (9.99/133.98), and ran 10.0s in eliminations while winning the eliminator and the overall championship runoff.

Defending event champ (when it was an NMRA-only affair) Don Burton’s silver nitrous bigblock Mustang (near lane) qualified low in NMRA Super Street Outlaw with a 7.64/186 and ran those same numbers in this first-round bout with Mike Trimandilis but the Maryland “true ten-five” fell to Sam Vincent’s smallblock-powered 7.59/186 in round two.
