Merritt has been racing the JT Race Cars-built machine for 10 years. “It’s a dinosaur,” he said.

Dan Higgs, from Acworth, GA (near lane) defeated the ’67 Chevy II of Rome, GA’s Mark Earwood in a very tight Super Pro final.

Palmetto, GA’s Toby Barnes and his 1970 GTO prevailed over Braselton, GA’s Jacob Rutledge, who broke out with his pick-up in the eighth-mile Pro class final. Regardless, Barnes would’ve been tough to beat after leaving with a .002 light, then running 7.532/91.18 on a 7.53 dial.

Running on DOT tires, Justin Buckner and his 2002 Camaro, from Rincon, GA, won the Sportsman final over the 1974 Vega stationwagon of Douglasville, GA’s Kent Long.

After leaving with a .006 reaction, Hoschton, GA’s Morgan Wood (near lane) posted a 7.973-seconds pass at 79.89 mph to earn the Jr. Dragster win over Ashton Shubert, from nearby Commerce, GA.
