In a reversal of Cecil County qualifying, nitrous combinations took the top positions in the Precision Turbo Super Street class at Edgewater. Parker mastered the tricky track with a 7.416/190.79 to put his sprayed 706-cube powered '69 Camaro on the top of the ladder followed by Newtown, PA's Shawn Zubler's 7.714/181.34 in his nitrous injected 648-cube '99 Trans Am. The best turbocharged performer on the property was NSCA veteran Jerry Morgano. His single turbo 408 powered '02 Mustang took the third slot with a 7.724/184.99 best. On Sunday, it was the aforementioned Parker walking through the field as Zubler went down with engine problems in the second round. Morgano fell to Parker's consistent ride in the semis to set up the final against Mike Libecap's BES powered '95 Achieva. After destroying the transmission a few weeks prior to the event, Libecap has been struggling to get the former record holding Olds back into championship form and it just wasn't to be at Edgewater. Despite improving to a 7.536, he couldn't catch Parker's quicker 7.513.

With the victory at Cecil County, both ends of the record, and the points lead, Pro-Filer Nostalgia Pro Street competitor Mitch George couldn't stay away from Edgewater. He found some worthwhile opponents waiting for him. After three rounds of qualifying, George was on top with a 7.667/180.32 but Doug Smith was snapping at his heels putting Jim Huber's '00 S-10 through the lights in 7.688/181.45 for the second slot. Unfortunately, the BES entry fell to parts breakage in the first round allowing Warren Herman's beautiful '72 Nova to move on to the semis where he was beaten on a holeshot by Pickerington, OH's Pete Ricart. On the other side of the ladder, Mitch George send home former Modified Street racer Phil Plestis and enjoyed a bye in the semis. In the final, it was Ricart out of the gate first driving his beautiful black 638-cube Kuntz powered '65 Fairlane to a 7.765/176.19 best for the weekend but it just wasn't enough to catch George's winning 7.715/172.71.

The Trovato juggernaut once again bowled over all challengers in the Goodyear Limited Street but the competition is showing promise. The Rochester, NY based engine builder claimed the top berth on Saturday with an 8.083/171.55 best performance in the real 10.5 tire eliminator. Toms River, NJ's Tommy Mauro continues to improve powering his small block Chevy motivated '79 Camaro into the #2 spot with an 8.204 while Patrick Barnhill absolutely punished the track with an 8.33/159.04-mph charge in his wild, procharger blow-through carbed small block '71 Nova to lay stake to the third spot on the ladder. The three cars made their way through the field with Trovato sending home an ever improving Barnhill to set up a repeat of Cecil County's final round confrontation with Mauro. Leaving with almost identical reaction times, it looked like Mauro might claim his first Goodyear Limited Street victory but it was definitely not your father's Oldsmobile crossing the stripe for his second win of the season.

Edgewater saw the debut of Coon Rapids, MN's own Jeremy Harris in the new naturally aspirated BES Pro Comp eliminator and he was in top form. With a fresh yellow paint job, new '98 Camaro bodywork, and a new Tim Davis powerplant under the hood, Harris was ready for action and proved that the rules work well powering his championship winning Real Street car to the top of the field with a blistering 8.686/157.26. Following behind Harris was perennial threat Larry Perkins, a returning to action Paul Suloff, defending Hot Street champion Tim Davis, an off his Cecil County pace Ken Schertz, and a still struggling Robert Eubanks. On Sunday, Perkins uncharacteristically turned on the redlight in the semis giving Suloff his shot at Harris in the final round. However, the final was to be anti-climatic as the '98 Camaro pushed through the beams giving Suloff his first BES Pro Comp victory of the season with an 8.771/146.17.
