The always tough Super Pro d-y-o bracket saw yet another victory for veteran Barry Giles, and, having intimidated a couple of opponents on the way to the final, produced a 7.683 on a 7.68 dial-in whilst opponent Rick Cooke broke out by 0.001 second on his 8.50 prediction.

Paul Knight qualified number one with a 8.906 ticket in Super Comp and then proceeded take out the top half of the ladder to meet Shaun Lathan in the final. Both drivers surprisingly dropped off their usual 8.90 pace, with Knight prevailing in a 9.17 to 9.32 match-up.


Competing in both Super Gas and Super Comp, Tim Adam's Blitzkrieg roadster is usually something to be feared if it appears in the opposing lane. However, the Shakespeare Nationals saw "only" an early exit in the 8.90 bracket and a runner-up finish to former crewman Matt Gatland in a double break-out final in the 9.90 class.

Jerry Charles big block Capri competes in Street Eliminator, and, with assistance from ex-Pro Mod standout Dave Pollen has started to produce the eight second numbers that are needed to run with some of the big hitters. Jerry's strong burnouts are also applauded by Sooty (this may take some explaining to our American readers, but suffice to say Brits of a certain generation were bought up on the exploits of Sooty and Sweep).
