The 10.5 tire racing has always been wildly popular, but interest has soared in the last few years. Outlaw 10.5 racing has migrated from the south to the northeast in a big way and the NSCA has adjusted their rules to take advantage of the hottest craze in street legal. Fourteen entries made their way to Cecil County for the first running of the new Precision Turbo Super Street eliminator with David Hance, Leo Barnaby, and Anthony DiSomma rocking the crowd with double century speeds in qualifying.

The heat was on as Hance lead the pack with a 7.053/204.23 in his turbocharged 449-cube Ford powered ’05 Mustang with Barnaby’s ’90 Corvette (shown) nipping at his heels with a 7.109 at 203.16 mph. The two didn’t disappoint on Sunday, working their way through the field to meet in the finals. "Cycle Dave" murdered the tree with a .021 light, but succumbed to electrical gremlins while Barnaby powered away for the win with a 7.234/199.02, his mildest pass of the day.

New Jersey’s Mitch George earned the top berth in Pro-Filer Nostalgia Pro Street and the record with an amazing 7.53/183.87 during Saturday’s qualifying session. George’s performance was seven hundredths quicker than No. 2 qualifier Warren Herman’s very clean silver ’72 Nova. During Sunday’s elimination, defending champion Kevin Parent sent Herman home in an all-Nova confrontation while George put a hurting on Henry Jackson’s amazing naturally aspirated entry to set up the final. Parent chopped down the tree with a .003 light but just couldn’t muster the horsepower to run with George’s 7.561 to a losing 7.705.
