Rich Hayes, who led qualifying with a great 5.39/220.48 mph, met the always tough Gus Ward in the final. Ward left first, but at half track the boat got loose and Hayes stormed by for a 5.48/218.22 win over Ward’s 6.24 shut off effort.
Rich Hayes and the beautiful “Just Another Crapshoot” overcame a first round fuel fire (that caused IHBA rescue to purposely sink the boat) to win the Top Alcohol Hydro class.

“Modern Outlaw” guided by Tony Scarlata got the win in Top Alcohol Flatbottom over Fred Hart’s “Justice."

Jim Streatch’s “Pure Nasty” took the win over Steve Racij’s “ Agent Orange” in Pro Mod.

The IHBA racers return to the Liquid Quarter Mile on Memorial Day weekend for the 30th. Annual “Nitro Nationals” in Red Bluff, CA.
