In Pro Nitrous, quarter-mile veterans Steve Vick and Billy Harper(above) both qualified for their first ADRL eliminators, then kept on winning throughout the day Saturday to eventually meet in the final. Vick, the No. 2 qualifier, held on to win a close race, 4.09 to 4.11, to cap a 515-point weekend that saw him move from unranked all the way up to the 13th spot in the Pro Nitrous points standings. One round earlier, Harper clinched a spot in his first ADRL final with a dramatic holeshot win in the semifinals over points leader Burton Auxier, 4.11 to 4.10.

Vick (above) and Harper's final-round showing in Memphis continued Pro Nitrous class's wide-open flavor in 2006. The four events completed this season have featured eight different finalists, and the class as a whole includes only five drivers (Auxier, James Hancock, Johnny Pilcher, Keith Baker, and Rex Kelly) who have managed to qualify for every event.

Quain Stott won the postponed St. Louis Pro Extreme title Friday night.
