The UK's nostalgia racers tend to congregate in the Wild Bunch bracket. Alec Coe's superbly turned out "Shy Talker" alky slingshot is one of the best prepared of the bunch and dropped his PB into the 8.2 range in his only pass of the weekend. The sevens can't be far away.

Ray Guy's big block motivated Pop failed to make the one shot qualifying, but had a good stab at unofficial burnout of the weekend honours with this crossed up effort -- extra style marks are certainly deserved for smoking the front tires. |

After a couple of "interesting" runs towards the back end of 2005 -- the final one being a brief trip up the wall at Santa Pod -- Steve Carey is heading in the right direction again with the "Purple Princess" fuel bike. A new spragless gearbox and repositioned foot pegs contributed to a smooth and straight run cracking the 200-mph barrier for the first time in a losing effort to Steve Woollatt in the only ACU final round to be completed at the meeting.
