Round Two
Bud Morgan advanced with a coasting 10.29 lap over a troubled Greg Pizzino. Pizzino damaged his Fulton Motor in his first round win and couldn’t make the call. Rick Thornton continued to be the model of consistency with a 4.569 @ 157 and a win over Grant “GMAC” McCrary. Matt Jones won over David Houser with a 4.716 to Davids 5.156. and Mark Jenkins took the win light when Jeff Naiser had tranny problems and shut off.
Round Three
Matt Jones wins over Mark Jenkins 4.657 to Marks 6.347. Rick Thornton improved to a 4.556 to bury Bud Morgan’s 14.17.

Finals
The finals matched up Two cars equipped with legendary Texas engine-builder Hans Feustel power plants, Matt Jones and Rick Thornton, Matt knew he had to cut a great light to beat Rick Thorton. Both men staged their cars carefully but before the tree came down
the split dominators on Jones’ engine stumbled and Thornton was off, He did get a little loose and had to peddle the throttle allowing Jones to make a race of it but Thorton got to the stripe first with a 4.726 to Jones’ 4.780


The 2006 KOTH season promises to be interesting to say the least . There is still several cars that are not finished yet that very capable of low 50s , including former NHRA Funny Car pilot Johnny Gray and his Son Shane they have two Ness Built Chevy II powered by Reher Morrison 700+ nitrous engines with Shannon Jenkin’s tweaked nitrous systems. . So to answer the question “are the KOTH cars any closer to ORSCA yet? …..ABSOLUTLEY while they may not take the win at any of the big races but they WILL make it a drag race.
