"I thought we had a good shot in the final, but when I went to do the burnout, the fitting on the line-lock plate broke, so I had no line-lock. Then I did the burnout and I couldn't get the car stopped. I had no brakes and the car rolled out there about 300 feet. I had to back up real slow because I didn't know if I was going to be able to stop it. When I went to stage the car, all I was thinking about was how was I going to stop at the finish line. When I went to stage, the car just rolled into the lights and it blew my concentration. It bothers me because the team did such a good job. It looked on paper like I didn't drive very well, but I did the best I could do."— Yates on the distraction he suffered going into the final against Edwards
PRO STOCK BIKE

“I don’t feel any extra pressure.”— Karen Stoffer before qualifying began, on being the two-time defending event winner
“It's so thick you can cut it with a knife.”— Tom Bradford on the humidity during Friday’s qualifying sessions
"It's consistent—just consistently slow for what we should be running. The
humidity has a lot to do with that.”— Ryan Schnitz after finishing 9th in qualifying on Friday
"Gary Scelzi, the Funny Car champion, didn't even qualify, so that gives you an idea about how difficult it was to tune to this track this weekend. It's gonna’ be a tuner's race, and whoever doesn't make a mistake is gonna’ win."— Schnitz again, after wrapping up qualifying in 6th place
"From zero to hero.”— Sampey on jumping from 15th to first in Saturday’s first qualifying session
"You won't hear any complaints from me.”— Antron Brown on qualifying second and being placed on the opposite side of the ladder from teammate Sampey
"That was a real shame, too, because we actually ended up outrunning him on the clock.”
— Brown on going red against Andrew Hines in round two
"It feels great when we can beat the Harleys. I thanked Andrew at the end of the track because I told him that their team is so hard to beat that it's an accomplishment to beat them. I appreciate the competition." — Sampey after her 7.144 at 190.11 beat the 7.200 at 188.04 by Hines in the final
