Jason Line and Greg Anderson continue that team’s season long domination of the Pro Stock class, qualifying first and second at Pomona. Anderson ran 6.67 to get the pole while Line qualified just behind him with a 6.68.
Tony Schumacher put his U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster on the pole with a 4.49 thanks to master tuner Alan Johnson.
Del Worsham ran a career best 4.71 to capture the Fuel Coupe number one spot.
Darren Smith of nearby Palmdale, CA, and his '68 Dart were among a group of SS/FA Mopar’s that qualified the Super Stock program. Smith’s Dart ran a 9.783.
