TOM'S DIFFERENTIAL OUTLAW STREET
Not a large of the turn out for the Tom’s Differential Outlaw but the quality was second to none. Justin Humphrey's towed all the way from Monrovia Md. bringing his 183 ci, Toyota powered, four door Lexus to the event and he shocked the locals by qualifying
in the second spot just behind PSCA Outlaw Champion Rich Zehring’s Nova. Zehring’s 7.002,
197.65 mph just covered Humprey’s 7.085, 199.61 mph for the pole. Rick Snavely in Larry Tice's “Hillbilly” got every one’s attention by setting Top Speed qualifying at 7.31/ 201.64 mph for the third spot but the team did get the honor of being the first over 200 mph in the category.
The final round of the Outlaws was just incredible, as Justin Humphrey's Lexus left like a bullet and made his best lap of the event with an impressive7.028, and 200 mph and he needed that plus a hole shot to hold of Zehring’s Nova who stormed to a personal best time of 6.925, 203.61 mph that while didn’t light the board did deliver both Low ET and Top Speed of the event.
DEEDS PERFORMANCE EXTREME DRAG RADIAL
After running a great 7.507, 194.13 mph in qualifying , Albuquerque
New Mexico’ s Mike Keenan looked like the Deeds Extreme
Street title was his to lose. Upsets are what makes things
Interesting in racing though and when Mike has problems in the final
round, the cash and trophy went to Olympia Washington's
Brian Macy and his Nova. Macy clicked off a nice 8.168, 176.90 mph bye run for the
Victory as Keenan could not answer the call for the final round.
AMP PERFORMANCE HOT STREET
PSCA racer Craig Gustafson has raced his Chevy Nova all year in PSCA competition along with his brother. The Encinitas, Ca native had stiff competition from Jon Bundrant's Camaro from Hemet, CA that lead all qualifiers in qualifying. In the final Bundrant faced off agai nst Craig Gustafson's Nova. Jon caught a red lite start and it
was all Craig Gustufson as the black Nova covered the 1320 in 8.542, 162.16 mph to Jon's quicker but losing 8.460, 161.85 mph.
