Long time trouper Quain Stott finally got the Pro Mod championship in 2006 when nearest racer Glenn Kerunsky didn’t make the event’s cut. To top his championship off with something really important, Stott asked his girlfriend Cynthia to marry him Saturday night. Thank goodness she accepted.

In an all-Cobalt Pro Stock final round John Montecalvo’s came up victorious.

Pete Berner was the 2006 Pro Stock champion.
Racing ended on Sunday night when the track conditions became too cold to race. The remaining matches were done on Monday. It was the
IHRA Finals That Would Never End. You can check the box scores for all the standings and finishers. But look for more than just fast times and new champs to come out of this fall event in the North Carolina Piedmont. Pro Mod is probably going to have some more “equalization” since not one nitrous-assisted car made the 16-field cut. This, in the class that was originally set-up to bring the clash of the supercharger versus nitrous titans to great fan appreciation. Bet’cha Hernandez’s record holds up for quite some time. Maybe even until next season.
