Outlaw 10.5 champ Conrad Scarry (left) made only one qualifying attempt before starting from the 18th position in the 30-car field. On raceday, the Deerfield Beach-based racer made it past early polesitter Charlie Dolbin, Canada's John Carinci and fellow Floridian Rome Berry to reach the final round against Dunedin, FL's Bob Hollingsworth. Scarry left first with a .042 holeshot and led all the way with a 4.55 at 165.38 to beat Hollingsworth's 4.81/156.52 combo. The Pro Street final featured a rare father-versus-son faceoff with dad finishing on top. Dean Goforth strapped a .017 holeshot on son Cary and needed it at the far end as Cary's car went a quicker and faster 4.14 at 175.02, but still came up a little short of the 4.15/174.04 posted by his father. The Holderville, OK-based duo also qualified one-two in their IHRA-legal Pro Stockers, which had to be fitted with mufflers and small, aftermarket headlights to be legal for Bradenton's Pro Street class.
