ROSS Racing Pistons Introduces New Forged Side Relief Pistons

Professional engine builders and racers have been winning championships and dyno shootouts like the 2008 Jeg's Engine Masters Challenge with ROSS pistons because of their near perfect balance of strength to weight. And now ROSS raises the bar with its new Forged Side Relief (FSR) pistons that are lighter and stronger than traditional piston designs.

Forged out of 2618 T-61 aluminum, the ROSS FSR piston features an in-board pin boss that accepts a shorter, lighter pin. The pin boss supports the skirt area and piston head with strategically place struts and webs that result in an extremely stiff, yet lightweight design.

Ross is offering its new FSR pistons for most popular small-block applications such as GM LS engines, small-block Chevys and Fords, 5.7-6.1 Hemis and many others. They are available for most O.E. and aftermarket cylinder heads, and will accommodate bore sizes from 4.060” – 4.200”. The Ross FSR pistons are strong enough to handle nitrous, turbos and supercharging.

SIX AIR DUCT DESIGNS NOWAVAILABLE FROM SPITZER

Spitzer Composites, the highly respected manufacturer of race car bodies and components, now offers builders a selection of six air duct designs, made in either carbon fiber or fiberglass. Available in both the low profile NACA duct and deeper rectangular designs, they have proven to be highly efficient in evacuating air or serving as a fresh air inlet, depending on the installation. The lightweight ducts are equipped with a flange, and can easily be installed on any carbon fiber, fiberglass, aluminum or steel body panel.

The three NACA-style ducts have a depth of about an inch and come in small (2" wide by 4-1/2" long), medium (3" x 5-3/4") and large (5" x 10") sizes. Attachment flanges are about 7/8" in width.

Spitzer’s larger rectangular ducts come in sizes of 2" wide by 8" long and 2-1/2" deep, 4-1/2" W x 6" L x 2-1/4" D, plus 6" W x 6" L x 4-1/4" D. The two larger ducts have a raised “lip” around the duct opening to enhance flow.

Quick Fuel Technology NEW Lightweight Aluminum Main Body

The new Quick Fuel Technology Aluminum Main Body is now standard on all Professional and Q-Series square-bore carburetors. The billet metering plates and the bright aluminum tumble-finished main bodies and float bowls make the brand new QFT carbs 4½-lbs lighter then their zinc counter parts! Just another innovation from the fuel delivery experts at QFT helping you reach victory lane faster.

Not only does the new main body design remove weight from you’re the highest point on your car's front end, the engineers at QFT made a few improvements along the way. They recessed the air bleeds into the main body to improve the overall airflow through the carb. The accelerator pump squirter location was moved up and out of the air stream, which helps reduce potential fuel pull. The high luster finish looks fantastic and it also helps protect the aluminum from harmful contaminants.
