Forty-one years ago Chris "the Golden Greek" Karamesines registered the first 200-mph time at Alton Dragway in Illinois with an 8.87/204.54. This past May 4th at Atlanta Dragway, Karamesines, 73 years young, ripped the best pass of his nearly 50-year career when he qualified for Top Fuel at the Advance Auto Parts NHRA Southern Nationals with a 4.80 at 302.89-mph, his first run over 300.

We've beaten this drum before, but that 302-mph run by a guy racing when JFK was president is like NFL all-time running back Jim Brown scoring a touchdown in a contemporary football game. Absolutely unheard of. "The Greek," already a drag racing Hall of Famer, is no stranger to astounding elapsed times and mile per hours. Below are just a few of his many deeds.
