Tom Hoover was a frequent IHRA Funny Car competitor in the late 1980’s. His dad George Hoover still wrenched at the time and was in his 80’s. Hoover finished third in the Championship points in 1992. Del Worsham was the World Champ that year.
Dale Pulde was an IHRA World Champ in the Nitro Coupe class way back in 1982, He dominated the class that year and finished almost 2000 pts ahead of the next closest driver a relative unknown Texas driver by the name of Raymond Beadle.
