MARCH KICKS OFF EAST COAST RACING AND MEMORIES!

ince, I can remember the NHRA Gatornationals has kicked off drag racing on the East Coast. It has been over 25 years since I attended my first NHRA Gatornationals. This event holds many fond memories for numerous racers and their families. I have many fond memories of this event from my middle school, high school and college years. During high school and college a close friend of mine attended the NHRA Gatornaionals every year. We had a great time, despite the fact that our time was monitored by close friends of my father's and I always felt like I had a body guard at the races with me, but it was still some of my fondest memories. The best year was the 1988 NHRA Gatornationals where David Crume won in the stock class driving for my Father.
D.R.A.W. holds their first annual Board of Trustees meeting of the season at the NHRA Gatornationals. Since the elections take place in the fall and are finalized in the winter month it always exciting to see the new board members. This event also marks the D.R.A.W. Annual Florida golf tournament. This event was established in 1997 and has continued to be a huge success and has now been named the “D.R.A.W. Racer Appreciation tournament.” The tournament has become an event that many of the sportsman racers, professional race teams and industry members have come to participate in annually.
