D.R.A.W. STARTS OFF 2007 WITH NEW BOARD OF TRUSTEES!

The New Year always brings a fresh start with New Year resolutions and a new beginning. For D.R.A.W. the New Year brings the introduction of the new Board of Trustees. Six of the twelve Board Members are voted on each year to serve a two-year term. During the months of September and October, nominations are accepted for the Board of Trustees. Elections take place during November and early December. The membership of the organization votes for the Board of Trustees. Being a member of the Board of Trustees for any organization is a great responsibility and sometimes quite a task. Not too long ago I read a quote from James Forestall, “Courage is the capacity to conduct oneself with restraint in times of prosperity and with courage and tenacity when things do not go well.” I suppose this is true of life in general, but it is especially true in any organization or business.
The D.R.A.W. 2007 and 2008 Board of Trustees are: Diane Cole, Karen Comstock, Debra Fickler, Carol Gibbs, Joan Gwynn, Beth Hyatt, Sarah McLemore, Edie Mountjoy, Rosalee Noble, Pat Schaeffer, Tracy Winters and Yokie Van Vallis. Alternates are: Vicki Aswege and Robert Buck. You may know several of these individuals, but others you may know nothing about. As the board settles in and prepares for their responsibilities, the season opener is just around the corner. The annual D.R.A.W. “Racer Appreciation” Florida Golf Tournament held in conjunction with the NHRA ACDelco Gatornationals. The tournament will take place on Wednesday, March 14, at Iron Wood Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida, which is now the home of the college football “BCS National Champions.” Stay tuned for details on the new board members and the upcoming golf tournament.
