As 2016 pushed the gates to a new season of drag racing open, the Las Vegas-based A/G car of Ken Phillips stepped into the winner’s circle in a big way by taking the A/Gas title at Wild Horse Pass Raceway Park near Phoenix, Az. The locally owned AMX gasser has been pursuing a trophy for some time and it all came together at the 2016 NHRA Nostalgia opener! We congratulate Phillips and his crew for a job well done.
An unofficial Las Vegas-based group is called the ‘Wheezers & Geezers’. Three of their cars were on display recently at a benefit in Henderson. The tan ’68 Pontiac Firebird is the work of Dan Letzke; while Jeff Hall claims the red ’65 Mustang; and Len Rickards keeps the ’70 Trans Am in his Desert Shores garage.
