Above: Pomona, California, NHRA World Finals, 2011: My second column in 2011 featured the drag racing Lambecks, Bob & Doug! While the father & son duo did win back to back NHRA National Super Stock titles in 1998 & 99, they had not been in a national final recently. All
that changed at Pomona where Doug Lambeck and Scott McClay tangled for Competition Eliminator early Monday AM. (Finals were delayed due to strict curfew restrictions). In a close encounter, McClay won his first NHRA ‘Wally’ and Doug was the runner-up.

Finally, this just in:

Los Angeles, Ca. the NHRA Museum, Dec. 4, 2011: Attending the popular Lions Drag Strip reunion, were three of the best early Pro Stock stars, L/R: Bob Lambeck, Bill Bagshaw, and Gary Hansen. Wish I knew the joke that got them smiling. (Photo by Carl A.)
