Just Wondering … Why then are the TV broadcast ratings of the NHRA races so low when compared to other major motorsports? Answer: The suits in charge at the NHRA and ESPN just can’t figure out how to successfully translate the excitement that is drag racing to the little screen so they just keep doing the same thing over and over and over.
Just Wondering … What does Danica Patrick have as a marketable personality that Ashley Force Hood doesn’t? Answer, not a thing! So why wasn’t Ashley as popular with the mainstream media as Ms. Patrick is? Answer: who knows?
Just Wondering … What would the TV broadcast of NHRA races be like had HD Partners or Bruton Smith been successful in buying the NHRA pro classes? You can bet the house it wouldn’t be anything like we are seeing currently. Neither of those two organizations would have stayed with the status quo of low ratings like the NHRA management has.
Just Wondering … Why the NHRA or ESPN don’t use Bob Frey on the big broadcast? His knowledge of the sport, its history and drivers is unsurpassed and he knows the right questions to ask, plus he can be very FUNNY!
Just Wondering … At what point do the NHRA sportsman racers that support the non-national event tracks decide that the cost to race at LODRS events just doesn’t make any sense and start looking for somewhere else to race?
Just Wondering … Has John Force just run out of things to say when he is interviewed on the ESPN? I swear he is channeling William S. Burroughs.

Just Wondering … Will the NHRA eventually reduce the qualified field for TAD and TAFC to eight cars instead of sixteen? Will they eventually make the Comp cars qualify for sixteen spots? If they have any thought of reviving those classes and generating some fan interest they should. Drag racing suffers when qualifying really means nothing.
Just Wondering … Will Tom Compton ever be the charismatic, public leader of drag racing and fill the void in the sport left when Wally Parks died?
