Just Wondering … How soon will the IHRA Monster Jam feature Top Fuel or Pro Mod cars racing four at a time? I predict that if the mainstream press makes a big deal out of Bruton Smith doing it at Charlotte and they sell a lot of spectator tickets four abreast will become a part of Monster Jam!

Just Wondering … Am I the only one who would actually welcome running 8.90, 9.90 and 10.90 classes four at a time?

Just Wondering … Still riffing on the four abreast deal, is it just a matter of time before master promoters like George Howard or the Baders find a way to run a big bucks bracket race with four cars at a time?

Just Wondering … What would most race fans buy a ticket to first: A five-second nitro Harley show, a five-second AA/FC race or a five-second alky Pro Mod show? If it burns nitro I'll buy a ticket.

Just Wondering … What NHRA prez Tom Compton and IHRA prez Aaron Polburn's drag racing legacies will be?

Just Wondering … Have the really wealthy racers/team owners in drag racing such as Don Schumacher, Forrest Lucas, Larry Minor and Jim Jannard ever made a serious attempt to buy the NHRA or even thought of doing so?

Just Wondering … Would more fuel teams survive if the NHRA were to cut pro fields to eight cars, pay a decent stipend to the 9-10 cars and keep the purses they now have for 16-car fields?

Just Wondering … If the NHRA were to cut the current fields from 16 to eight Top Fuel and Funny Cars, could they or would they consider adding an eight-bike nitro bike field? Think of the sponsors and fans that might bring!

Just Wondering … Speaking of nitro bikes, am I the only one that really, really misses the nitro bikes that used to be an Eliminator at the U.S. Nationals?

Just Wondering … Wouldn't a Quick 32 Eliminator at Indy (no nitro, no bracket racing) be a cool deal?

Just Wondering … Why not name the pro racer with the most points in T/F, F/C, P/S and PS/B the NHRA National Champion as a reward for finishing the regular season leading the points. Baseball, hockey, basketball, etc. all name regular season champs. Since the NHRA has even started referring to the U.S. Nationals as the last race of the regular season (this year), why not? A ring, jacket or cash bonus to go with the title might keep the pre-chase a little more interesting.

Just Wondering … Why the manufacturers who sell many more of their products to sportsman racers than the pro racers don't put up big money for the winners of the .90 classes, Stock, Super Stock and Comp at the U.S. Nationals? Those racers outnumber the pros about 10 to 1 at Indy yet the big-buck races always pay off the pros.

Just Wondering … Why National Speed Sport News Editor Emeritus Chris Economacki isn't in Don Garlits’ Drag Racing Hall of Fame? I say he warrants that honor.

Just Wondering … How much money would you have made and what kind of odds would you have gotten in 2003 if you bet that after retiring from TopFuel that year Don Garlits would return to NHRA competition in six years at thewheel of a 10-second A/SA doorslammer?

Just Wondering … Which is more amazing, Garlits competing at the 2009 U.S. Nationals in a non-supercharged door car or 80-year-old Chris Karamesines competing in the Top Fuel division?
