Garlits has stroke on Sunday, says he’s OK now

Eighty-year-old Don Garlits, arguably the greatest drag racer in history, had a bad couple of days last weekend. He had to check his wife, Pat, into the hospital last Friday and then on Sunday he suffered a stroke. Garlits has sent out a note saying that he is recovering nicely from the stroke with no serious damage.

We here at DRO extend our deepest sympathy to Mr. Garlits and his family and hope that things get better for them in the future. (Ron Lewis photo) [2/22/2012]
