Free tickets for Cordova event

Agent 1320 got a note wrapped around an adult beverage bottle and tossed through the open window of the second floor Phlegm Building penthouse suite. The note says that the management at Cordova Dragway Park must have taken leave of their senses. According to the Agent’s operatives in the area they have decided to give away tickets for their doorslammer extravaganza May 15. That’s right, give them away! So you and 40 or 50 of your best friends could rent a bus and for just a $10 parking charge get to see Outlaw supercharged and nitrous oxide-injected Pro Mods at the beautiful Cordova Raceway Park.

Just before they were apprehended by the boys in the white coats, the management types distributed around 50,000 tickets to every convenience store, gas station, truck stop, restaurant and adult beverage emporium in the area. Get yours before they’re all taken -- and remember to get to the track early to cadge those primo seats before they are all gonzo! Drag racing in Hungary

Kai Selkemaa

The weekend saw the opening round of the European UEM Drag Bike championship at Kunmadaras in the North Great Plain of Hungary. With bumper entries in many of the classes (despite the long haul from the traditional hot beds of European drag racing) with Finland's Kai Selkemaa taking the win in Top Fuel Bike, Dutchman Job Heezen grabbing the early season points lead in Super Twin and reigning champion Swede Ulf Ogge starting the season with a strong performance in Pro Stock Bike.

Jari Halinen

The former Soviet MIG fighter airbase also played host to demonstration passes from the European FIA car classes in order to work towards full certification of the track for 2011, including the first appearance at Kunmadaras for FIA Top Fuel with Jari Halinen scoring low ET on the somewhat green racing surface.
