The Supercharged Warriors helped Northern Michigan Dragway celebrate its 40th anniversary on June 27. Tom Ledford is owner of the eighth-mile track in Kaleva, Mich.

Records were set and re-set during the weekend. “Mean” Gene Vogt’s “Nasty II” took the top qualifier spot and broke “Racin’” Jason Icenhower’s record with a 4.694 at 150.03 mph. Not to be outdone, Icenhower’s “Dixie Hustler” Corvette came back in the second round to run a 4.68 and reclaim the MPH record at 155.15.
But Vogt wasn’t through either. With his son Jeromy in the car for his maiden run with the Warriors, the team set a new Elapsed Time record with a 4.64 at 152.39 mph. It was a pretty impressive beginning for a driver new to the
organization.
The final round paired Icenhower against the “HellRaiser” ’23 T bucket altered of Jared Yuhasz. The win went to Yuhasz with a .033 RT coupled with a 4.82 at 146 mph. (Bob Wenzelburger photos) [7/6/2009]
