Scott Cannon's stunning 5.738-second pass at 252.71 mph in Saturday time trials led the supercharged set at the 2008 Shakedown.

Last year Jim Halsey ran a 5.998-second pass that was the first in the fives
for a nitrous Pro Mod car.
The 7th Annual Shakedown at E-town will be held at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park at Englishtown, NJ, on Nov. 7-8.
In 2008 NEOPMA member Scott Cannon shattered the outlaw blown quarter-mile record. This year racers Tommy Gray, Tim O’Hare, Pete Farber, Chris Russo, Chip King and Paul Athey will be some of the competitors hoping to take the $20,000. There will be a separate class for the nitrous racers that also will give 20K to the winner.
This year sees the addition of the Barwa Outlaw Eighth Mile Challenge. Tommy Gray and Scott Cannon will be among some of the best eighth-mile racers in the country battling for the $20,000 prize. (Todd Dziadosz photos) [11/5/2009]
