NASCAR TRUCK DRIVERS TRY OUT MEMPHIS DRAG STRIP

Stacy Compton, driver of the Bobby Hamilton/Blake Fulenwider Dodge No. 4 truck in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, tried his hand at drag racing recently. At Memphis for a pre-race media tour he and Dennis Setzer were driving the media around the oval in Vipers and as they left the garage area each time they tried to best each other doing burnouts.
The two decided to take it to the drag strip, where they took turns in a Dodge Caliber.
“It was a lot of fun,” said Compton. “They had the towers going and gave us slips on how we performed. It took a couple of times to get warmed up, but we eventually got the hang of it. I had a great time, we were both all smiles.”
