STAWICKI, BOLAND SHARE PMRA WIN

The inaugural PMRA Challenge at New York International Raceway Park got down to the final pair, but due to moisture seeping up through the track racing surface, the event was halted as a safety measure before the final round was completed.
The two finalists Mike Stawicki (top) of Tonawanda, New York, in his G-Force Race Cars 1967 Camaro, and Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario, in his B&B Racing 1963 Chevy Corvette shared the title and the points.

The Grainy Brothers Team of North Tonawanda, NY, were debuting their new G-Force 1967 Camaro, and seemed to have the early bugs worked out of the car with some impressive passes down the track. Unfortunately, they met up with Stawicki in the semi, who continued to tear up the track, this time with a 4.040-second, 183.18-mph winning pass against Jack Grainy’s 4.405-second, 153.93-mph run.
