FIRE IT UP FOR CHARITY

Capitol Auto Group Racing, a blown alcohol dragster team, is promoting the Night of Fire Benefit Car Show to be held in the Salem Evangelical Church Event Center parking lot on Friday night, June 6 in Salem, Oregon. This year, the show will benefit a Salem area child, Bryan Poli, who was diagnosed with cancer. All proceeds from the event will go to the family who is struggling to meet their daily needs, on top of medical bills.
Headlining the show is the “Warhawk” Jet Funny Car that spews a 30-foot flame and travels at speeds over 250 MPH. A fire show from the jet car will conclude the event. This family event will also feature dragster fire ups, funny cars, muscle cars, show cars, classic cars, and many kids activities.
The event begins at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00. Admission to the show is free to the public. Anyone wishing to donate racing memorabilia for the raffle can send it to the attention of Rich Bailey at 4826 Chan Street, Salem, OR 97306. (last year’s photo courtesy Rich Bailey) [5/27/2008]
