UNKEFER WINS AT HOUSTON

The Agent was delighted to see that Bob Unkefer, who generally is better known for his work behind the microphone, dropped the mike and put on the helmet and did something no other drag announcer/racer and that the agent knows of including Army Archer, Bret Kepner, or “Big Mac” Dave McClelland. Unkefer won his Wally as the winner of the Houston NHRA Stock Eliminator class. “Unk” drove his F/SA Pontiac Trans Am to an 11.402 at116.57 mph win over Austin Ford’s D/SA Mustang 10.947/120.07 Congrats to Unk from the Agent and this rates him getting a limited edition “No Whining” t-shirt from DRO. A COUPLE OF NOTES FROM THE AGENT’S OPERATIVE IN THE ANTIPODES

The Agent hears that Australia’s equivalent of the States’ Don Schumcher (at least in number of teams within his operation) Brett Stevens may be moving up from his alky-burning Tin Top Funny Car and might be adding a nitro-burner to his stable.
