DONNIE LITTLE IS BACK IN THE SADDLE

Past IHRA Pro Modified World Speed Record holder Donnie Little recently debuted Dennis Price's brand-new '63 Corvette Stingray at a Gateway International Raceway test session and, based on the Pro Nitrous designation, plans to attend ADRL Flowmaster events in 2008. Price contracted Mark Lynn Fabrications to build the orange split-window and then stuffed it with a new 728-cubic inch Charlie Buck powerplant that will be wrenched by crew chief Mike Capps. The car is currently only utilizing a three-stage nitrous oxide system.

"I had to lure Donnie out of retirement with a new car,” joked Price, "but he's having a good time driving again. We'll be at Tulsa for the ADRL race in April (25-26)."  (Bret Kepner photo) [3/24/2008]

NAPA TRAILER TO BE ON SAN ANTONIO MIDWAY

NAPA Auto Parts, presenting sponsor of the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals (April 4-6), will open shop on the IHRA midway. Not only will NAPA have local representatives on hand to provide assorted supplies, they will also order needed parts and in some cases providesame day delivery at the track for racers. San Antonio District Manager Steve Anderson is excited about the opportunity. "We've been involved with this race and Terry McMillen for a few years now. We see this as a natural step in the activation of our partnership with Terry and the IHRA."

San Antonio area fans can stop by any participating NAPA store to purchase Adult tickets at a $15.00 discount per ticket. McMillen and his car will make a special guest appearance at two area San Antonio stores during race week (Rittman and Woodlawn stores).

Fans attending the race will also be treated to a new feature at IHRA events this season. The Nitro Vision, a stadium-sized TV, will feature replays of the race during the weekend and special announcements from sponsors, including NAPA. [3/24/2008]

THANKS, QUAIN, I’LL TAKE IT FROM HERE

After a pre-season testing crash of the Knowles Racing Pro Mod with veteran driver Quain Stott in the seat, owner Mike Knowles will give it a shot himself at the JEGS ProMod Challenge in Houston at the O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals.

"It's been a rough couple of weeks and things have been happening pretty fast," admitted Knowles. "My guys have been working real hard to get us ready for Houston. I can't thank my crew chief Dan (Page) enough. He and the guys at his shop have worked tirelessly to get us back into competition." [3/24/2008]
