McBride demolishes Top Fuel Bike record
The XXX Racing Fuel National Finals at SGMP, Valdosta, GA, over the weekend brought the curtain down on the AMA Dragbike season in spectacular fashion. Despite record setting performances in Funnybike, Pro Street, and the quickest Pro Mod field ever, it was Larry “Spiderman” McBride who stood tallest of the tall at the end of the meeting.
In a stunning final round win over Korry Hogan in Top Fuel Bike, the multi-time champion lit up the scoreboards with a 5.746/239.82 to clock the quickest motorcycle pass in history and cut half a tenth off McBride's previous world mark. What is even more astounding is the motor nosed over at about 1,000 feet, and the incremental times make for jaw dropping reading. (Ivan Sansom photos) [11/10/2008]
Hairston sets Pro Street records at PSCA

At the PSCA Edelbrock World Finals at Auto Club Dragway, Clint Hairston reset the e.t. records in Pro Street action at 6.324 and reset the Top Speed mark at 226.85 mph.
The final saw Hairston taking out Mike Maggio in his blown Chevy Corvette, which was no match for the twin turbo GTO 6.432 e.t. at 225.52 mph to Maggio's 6.970 at a early shut off 197 mph. (James Drew photo) [11/10/2008]
