Prudhomme signs Massey; Dixon staying put!

In a 1320 note back on September 24, when blogsters and bulletin board racers had Larry Dixon leaving Don Prudhomme Racing for the Al Anabi money, the Agent posited that Dixon was an honorable man and would stay with Prudhomme. Dixon has continually said that he wasn’t going anywhere when asked.

Agent 1320 also said on that date that Spencer Massey would sign a development deal with Snake Racing. Now, almost a month later, it is official. That’s one in a row for the Agent. Snake Racing announced today that it has signed 2008 IHRA Top Fuel points leader Spencer Massey (shown) to a multi-year agreement, with plans to see Massey behind the wheel of a new Top Fuel dragster team beginning with the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle season.

Although he has been unable to confirm this rumor, the Agent keeps hearing Chip Ganassi Racing’s name in connection with Snake Racing in 2010. Remember where you read it first.  (Joe McHugh photo) [10/15/2008]

OFAA holds season finale

The Outlaw Fuel Altered Association series sponsored by Royal Purple will conclude their 2008 season at North Star Dragway this Saturday, Oct. 18, in Denton, Texas. Sixteen cars are expected to mix it up under the lights along with the Southwest Junior Fuel Association.

Points leader Bobby Marriott (shown) holds a 14-point lead in the “Shockwave” AA/FA over second place Nick Poloson in “Sundown.”  Marriott is a three-time series champion, while Poloson has claimed his first two wins of his career this season and poses the biggest threat to Marriott’s fourth championship. We’ll have results next week in DRO.
