LUCAS FINISHES 2nd,COUGHLIN 3rd IN CHEVY BOBSLED CHALLENGE
Top Fuel driver Morgan Lucas finished second to NASCAR road course specialist Boris Said by just 1.07 seconds in the final round of the NHRA vs. NASCAR driver shootout at the third annual Chevy/ Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge, in Lake Placid, N.Y. Drivers from NHRA and NASCAR competed in both a NHRA vs. NASCAR event, and individual overall competition during the three-day challenge. Lucas was forced to share sleds with Said after the back axle broke through the fiberglass body of his Lucas Oil-sponsored bobsled before the final round. Pro Stock Champion Jeg Coughlin was the only NHRA driver to advance to the final round in the overall event contested by all 15 drivers, picking up the bronze medal with his third-place finish. NHRA pro racers Bob Vandergriff, Phil Burkart and J.R. Todd also competed in the event. [1/9/2008]
BARTONE BAGS DOGFOOD DEAL

One of the Agent's favorite dinner partners Tony Bartone will be back for another year shoeing “Big” Jim Dunn’s Fuel Coupe. Dunn got sponsorship from the group that owns and distributes Canida dog food. The Agent actually has met the Canida folks. They are big dogs in the Sand Drag circuit fielding a 2-3 car Top Fuel team and have Amos ”Famous” Satterlee tuning for them. The Agent welcomes them to the asphalt. There are fewer rocks on the track at Pomona than you’ll have at Primm. [1/9/2008]
