NEW ‘TWO-LANE BLACKTOP’ STRIP OPEN IN ARKANSAS

A new asphalt eighth-mile track has opened in Bee Branch, AR. Owner Daniel Yoder, a hot rodder for most of his life, says he decided to open Two-Lane Blacktop Dragstrip to give
young drivers a safe place to race. All racers run heads-up and the winner is the first to the finish line.
Yoder, who is friends with actress Candy Clark, invited her and “American Grafitti” co-star Bo Hopkins (shown) to attend their event on April 14. The weather was a bit chilly, but there were plenty of racers on hand. It’s no George Ray’s Wildcat Dragstrip, but it’s not bad for a newcomer. NO RESCHEDULE DATE YET ANNOUNCED FOR ADRL MONTGOMERY EVENT
The ADRL is still trying to figure out when or indeed if they will reschedule their Spring Drags that were “weathered-out” at this past weekend’s event at George Howard’s Montgomery Motorsports Park.

They did, however, say that they would run the final rounds of their 2006 World Finals. That event, which has been postponed twice since 2006, is down to its final rounds and those will completed on Friday night of the upcoming ADRL event at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta, GA, on May 4-5.[4/16/2007]
