EVIDENTALLY YOU CAN BE A MONSTER, BUT NOT A ROCKSTAR

The always colorful Jerry Toliver announced Saturday that he was returning to the tour with an energy drink sponsor, RockStar. The real news was that the legendary Dale Armstrong would be calling the tuning shots for the team. Somehow that announcement got little attention from the ESPN broadcast crew or the NHRA PR machine. Is the there a two energy drink maximum when it comes to hyping a new Funny Car team?

It's interesting to note that reporters and photographers were barred from opening or consuming the RockStar energy product on the Fairplex premises by the NHRA media department because of Coca-Cola's Full Throttle product. The Agent wonders if you can drink Monster energy drink in the Kenny Bernstein pits?  (James Drew photo) [2/12/2007]
