WHAT’S YOUR FANTASY?

CSK Auto, Inc. has launched its NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League, an online fantasy racing game for fans of drag racing, which follows the 23-event national NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The game is located at www.nhrafantasygame.com.

No purchase or credit card is required to participate, and players may also create private leagues while still competing for prizes. Weekly and quarterly winners’ swag includes t-shirts, hats, and autographed drag racing memorabilia and gift cards good at all Checker, Schuck's, Kragen and Murray’s auto parts stores.

Players choose eight drivers before each of the 23 national NHRA POWERade Series events to earn points for weekly, quarterly, and “Chase for the Race” championship prizes. The top ten players for each of the first 17 NHRA POWERade Series national events also compete for the grand prizes at season end. These include four (4) reserved-seat tickets to the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series national event of their choice, a Frank Hawley Drag Racing School course, autographed collectibles, merchandise and more.[2/8/2007]

ALL 'TOONED UP

We welcome a new member to the DRO crew. Jeffrey DeGrandis has inexplicably agreed to draw cartoons on a regular basis for a mere pittance (or two). Let’s see, he loves drag racing, hates the establishment, and already has an attitude. Yep, we think he’ll fit in just fine. To meet Jeff and see his first cartoon from DRO’s “different perspective” check out All ‘Tooned Up.[2/8/2007]

SNYDER TAFC TEAM SPORTS NEW LOOK

The Snyder Motorsports Race Team have signed Powersource Transportation Inc. as a major associate sponsor for the 2007 race season on their Torco Racing Fuels-backed Top Alcohol Funny Car. In the past three years, the team has earned three Division 3 championships, three Top-10 finishes nationally and two Spitzer Low Qualifier Championships. Crew chief and car owner, Larry Snyder, has also been honored twice with the Pro/Sportsman Crew Chief of the year award, most recently in 2006. Mick earned the Pro/Sportsman Driver of the Year award in 2005.[2/8/2007]
