NEITHER SNOW NOR. . .
The 7th annual HangoverFest will go on in spite of nearly 6 inches of snow that fell on Cordova Dragway, Cordova, IL, on Friday, December 28. "The weather is what makes this event so special" said Track Operator Scott Gardner. "We will have pit area, return roads and race track cleared of the snow and ready to go" he continued.
The Hangoverfest is the only Midwest event with drag racing on New Years day. Gates open at 10 AM with racing underway at 11 AM into the late afternoon. "One year we had a winter storm warning as still had a great turn-out and a lot of fun; so this year should be a piece of cake" added Gardner. Admission is $10 to watch or race. In addition, free aspirin and can coozies will be given out at the gate. The heated Interstate Batteries Cafe will also be open with food and beverage as well as $1 Bloody Mary’s for those 21 and older and not racing.
