We are proud to announce that Rod Fuller, Robert Hight and Greg Anderson are the 2007 DRO/All Star Vacation Homes Real World Champions. As a reward for their “unofficial” NHRA championship, Phil Trover and his folks at All Star Vacation Homes and Drag Racing Online are going to offer the World Champs a condo or vacation home at no charge for the duration of the PRI Show in Orlando. The Champs will also get a nice trophy for their mantle courtesy of All Star vacation homes and DRO.
This award is not meant to replace or downgrade the official POWERade/NHRA World Championship, but rather is just our way of giving some recognition to Fuller, Hight, Anderson and their teams for their season-long excellence. Congratulations to all! (James Drew photos) [11/08/07]
PAYNE IN ‘UNOFFICIAL’ 5-SECOND CLUB
When DRO Editor and Publisher Jeff Burk announced that DRO was forming an “unofficial” club for the first 16 North American door cars to make a lap under six seconds in the quarter mile, we listed all of the teams and drivers that we knew had run a five-second lap in a Pro Modified.
Unfortunately we left off one Jay Payne who drives the Brad Anderson entry. A big apology from the Agent for the oversight.
Since our last update we have come up with a design for a decal. We will send several decals to all members of the club for the driver and crew. Each driver will also receive a lightweight jacket with the five-second-club emblem on the breast pocket. (Sorry, crewmembers will have to buy their jackets. What, are we made of money!)
These are currently twelve members of the club that we know of: 1. Mitch Stott, 2. Josh Hernandez, 3. Troy Critchley, 4. Mike Janis, 5. Scott Cannon, 6. Ray Commisso, 7. Scott Filkins, 8. John Russo, 9. Doug Palmer, 10. Chip King, 11. Jay Payne, 12. Mike Stawicki.
One last thing: If you are one of the members please email the date and your five-second ET to jeffburk@dragracing
online.com so we can complete our records. Thanks. [11/08/07]
