TINDLE NAMED AMS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Tim Tindle's impressive season performance was acknowledged when the Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Pro Mod racer was chosen as the 2007 AMS Pro Mod Challenge Rookie of the year.
"To win an award like this really means a lot to me," said Tindle. "We have had our ups and downs all season, but we were able to put this Chuck Ford powered ‘Stang in the winner's circle more than once. You know, Chuck Ford, Skippy, Porkchop, and Marcus work day in and day out to make this happen and their hard work paid off."
In June, Tindle earned his first national event win by defeating Jay Payne in the final round of the ProCare RX Super Nationals at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ and then extended his second national event win defeating Jay Payne in the final round of the Pro Care RX Pro Mod Clash, Las Vegas. BELLEMEUR IS DIV. 7 TAFC CHAMP
Sean Bellemeur recorded a 5.670 at 254.33 mph, to secure the eighth spot on the TAFC ladder at the NHRA Finals at Pomona, giving him lane choice for the first round of eliminations. Bellemeur experienced severe tire shake in round one, pedaled the car and recovered enough to get the win light. Round two brought one of the closest battles in eliminations, but Sean’s 5.673 was outdistanced by Von Smith’s 5.612. A Pomona win will have to wait until 2008, but Team Meer is still victorious, having won the 2007 Lucas Oil Pacific Division 7 championship. (DRO file photo) [11/5/2007]
SHAKEUP IN THE SHUMACHER CAMP. SILLY SEASON STARTS SOON!
Unconfirmed rumors circulating around the fuel pits at Pomona have the Schumacher organization drastically changing its drivers for the 2008 NHRA season. Reportedly Jack Beckman is shopping his MTS money -- rumored to be around a million bucks give or take some. Also we hear that Richie Stevens’s Valspar sponsorship has run its course with Schumacher and he will be looking for a ride, as is multiple-time national Champ Angelle Sampey.
Former Schumacher biker Antron Brown will be driving the Matco-backed Top Fueler for David Powers Motorsports. Our sources also indicate that Tommy Johnson Jr. is not in line for a driving job for Schumacher unless he can bring some cash to the deal. [11/5/2007]

Jagermeister has announced that they won’t be returning on Max Naylor’s Pro Stock car next year. Naylor raced pretty well this year, got them plenty of ink and even painted his bike, but guess it wasn’t enough. Hell, the Agent even bought a case. So, what’s a guy got to do to keep a sponsor? NHRA WOULD HAVE BEEN NO BIG DEAL
The Agent hears that Bruton Smith’s Speedway Motorsports company agreed to buy New Hampshire International Speedway for a reported $340 million. According to the LA Times story in the Sunday paper it only cost HD Partners 109.5 million to buy all three NHRA owned tracks plus the headquarters building in Glendora. Gee, just one track? Who negotiated that deal? [11/5/2007]
SPORT COMPACT OWNERS FORM ASSOCIATION
Agent 1320 hears that a group of owners of Sport Compact teams recently formed an association and will decide where they will race in 2008…and there’s a good chance it won’t be for the NHRA or NOPI. Can you say ADRL? [11/5/2007]
