HARKER TWINS TO COMPETE AT POMONA

Twenty-year-old Australian twins Diana and Kate Harker will have their first opportunity to compete together in an NHRA national event in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series this weekend at the season ending NHRA Finals. Kate (shown), who has been driving all year, will pilot Tom Conway's Skull Shine/Torco Race Fuels A/Fuel Injected Nitro Dragster, and Diana, in just her third race of the season, will drive Randy Meyer's Championship A/Fuel Dragster with the sponsorship of ProCare Rx.

Diana, who completed her top Alcohol Dragster licensing requirements very recently, signed a four-race agreement with World Champion winning tuner and driver Randy Meyer with the backing of Roger Burgess, CEO and Chairman of ProCare Rx.

Diana said, "This has been an amazing year for our family, and I am certainly excited to be competing at this weekend's event. The possibility of lining up against Kate would be a dream come true.”  (David Sassaman photo) [11/1/2007]

FORCE UNDERGOES ANOTHER SURGERY

John Force underwent additional surgery Oct. 30 at Kerlan-Jobe Medical Center in Los Angeles where doctors inserted a pin in his right foot to support a broken bone discovered after he had flown home to Yorba Linda, CA, following 27 days in a Dallas hospital. Doctors also cleaned and repaired the nail bed on the middle finger of his right hand.

The new cast will further restrict Force’s mobility. He was able to use a walker to get to and from the starting line during last week’s ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals, but, with a new

boot cast on the right foot, he will be confined to a wheelchair or the cab of his Ford truck this week.

“We knew we were gonna have to do this (surgery),” Force said. “They told me it won’t set back my rehab, though. We’re still on schedule with that. They found the broken bone after I got back to L.A. and they think I might have done it during my rehab because we were doing three sessions a day, seven days.”

Force says he plans to be back in the cockpit of his Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang in time for pre-season testing in January. The Agent says take your time, John, and give your body a chance to heal properly. It takes longer than you think. [11/1/2007]
