Jerry Coons, Jr., USAC National Midget points leader and hot shoe for Cruz Pedregon’s Midget Racing team won the Arizona Midget Racing Association’s main event Oct. 20 at the half-mile Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, AZ. The other drivers on the podium for Cruz Pedregon Racing included three-time World of Outlaw Champion, Sammy Swindell, and Josh Wise, the 2006 USAC National Sprint Car Champion. Swindell took the checkers for second while Wise took third.
“To have all three Toyota-powered midgets finish in the top three is hard to do at any track across the country,” said Pedregon. “These are three of the best drivers in the country and I’m pleased with their performance. I’m happy for Advance Auto Parts, Toyota, Q, Snap-On and Great Stuff- they’re all part of my drag race team that also support my midget race team.” [11/1/2007]
