THEY DON'T REMEMBER OR DON'T CARE?
The Agent is still dumbfounded over the IHRA's insistence that their 2008 season opener at San Antonio will be, as stated in their press releases, "the site of a historical season opener for IHRA as for the first time in history a major drag racing sanctioning body will host a scheduled eighth-mile national event.”
Along with "scheduled" eighth-mile national events in the 1970s that included all nitro-burning categories, the IHRA produced their well-known "Nitrous Nationals" series slightly over a decade ago at sites including Jackson (SC), North Wilkesboro (NC), and Louisville (KY). Just because the current IHRA staff is unaware these races ever took place doesn't mean the rest of the world forgot about them, too.
Oh yeah, and what about the ADRL? They have been running all eighth-mile events for four seasons. [10/22/2007]

DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS #1
Virtually every member of the ADRL Pro Extreme car “The Widowmaker” driven by Bubba Stanton has written to say they aren’t using nitrous. Jeff Burk was told at the Dallas ADRL World Finals by a usually reliable source that the car was running the gas and, since it is perfectly legal in the ADRL Pro Extreme class to run any fuel, supercharger, power-adder or combination of the three known to man, Burk didn’t think it was a big deal and merely mentioned it in passing in the race report.. So we are setting the record straight for all of those that wrote including Roger Henson whose note said, “The Widowmaker never had and unless it gets out of hand will never have nitrous oxide.” So they might use nitrous in the future? DEPT OF CORRECTIONS #2
In Susan Wade’s report of the Shakedown at E-Town, she reported that John Nobile’s Mustang was nitrous-injected. The Agent got a call from Nobile who wanted to make sure that everyone knows his Mustang is NOT nitrous injected. [10/22/2007]
