NOSTALGIA CRANKS STOLEN

Over the past weekend Henry Velasco's shop in the Los Angeles are was broken into and six distinctive cranks were taken: 3- 426 Velasco Billets 4.500 stroke. These had specialsnouts on them with 4 1/4-inch key ways. The snout was extra long and made for a 1 inch X14 thread NUT on the end NOT a bolt in the middle; 1- 426 Velasco Billet 4.150 stroke; 1- used Crower Billet 4.500 stroke with #5 main .020 under size; and 1- used Velasco Billet 4.500 stroke with #4 throw burned and needs repair.

A $1,000 reward is offered for information leading to the person or persons who did this. Call Henry Velasco 562-862-3110. [10/16/2007]

TRACKS FLOURISHING IN FLORIDA

Gene Wagner let the Agent know that there is a new racer-owned drag strip at the Opa Loca airport near Miami, and there is talk of the Seminole Tribe (the owners of Hard Rock Cafe) building a drag facility around the Miami. There is also some talk of Wayne Huizenga putting together a facility at the huge Homestead Motor Speedway. [10/16/2007]
