HAGAN’S NEW PM GOES 3.91 ON THE 1/8TH

In its first-ever full track pass, Matt Hagan's Pro Modified ADRL TORCO Accellerator 1968 Camaro dropped a 3.91/191.69-mph bomb during testing on Monday.

"This is the first time I've ever driven a screw blower," said Hagan, "...WOW, it's a beast." Hagan was very happy with the car's debut, and added that there was room to improve. "I think there's a lot left that we can still get out of it, considering we only had a 1.01 60-foot."

Hagan's ADRL TORCO Accelerator 1968 Camaro will be in action all year long on the ADRL circuit. The ADRL TORCO Accelerator 1968 Camaro Pro Mod features a Mike Janis/JAN-CEN power plant and a Prime Time chassis.

Hagan will also run an identical Pro Mod car in IHRA and NHRA and that Camaro arrived from McCreary's Paint and Body Shop in Wytheville, VA. The car features a custom airbrushed paint scheme and a chameleon flame pattern that changes color under different light sources.[1/30/2007]

THE FUTURE PONTIAC PRO STOCKER?

The Banner Racing No. 7 Pontiac GXP.R driven by Paul Edwards, Kelly Collins and Andy Pilgrim finished second in the GT Class in the weekend running of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series season opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The Rolex 24 marked the initial outing of the new Pontiac G6-based GXP.R racecar. With the runner-up GT finish at Daytona the Agent is betting that this may be the Pontiac body style to replace the current GTO Pro Stocker when it joins the Grand Am and Olds Cutlass in drag racing retirement since the GTO is no longer in production.
