PEDREGON TAKES ‘NIGHT UNDER FIRE’ AT NORWALK

The annual “Night Under Fire” at Norwalk (Ohio) Raceway Park was a marathon session for the full house in attendance. By the time the main show started at 7:00 p.m., every seat was sold out and folks were three or four deep on both sides of the fence.
Tony Pedregon (oops brother Cruz shown) won the final with a 4.76. The sportsman time trials started at 9:00 a.m. and our photog on the scene says he heard they finished around 9:00 a.m. Sunday, but he just couldn’t hang for the full event. (John Ulman photo) [7-5-2006]

MORE MILLER RUMORS
One of the Agent’s operatives in the Milwaukee area dropped the Agent a note saying that when SAB bought Miller Brewing Company they laid off the sports marketing department that was based in that city. Reportedly they let it be known that they had a "different" sales program. Could the Miller/Penske NASCAR deal be the next program that SAB drops? [7-5-2006]
JET DRAGSTER, LSR DRIVER DIES
Land speed record-holder and former jet fighter pilot Johan Jacobs, 39, died during a test run in the build-up to his attempt at the world record for the standing start mile. Jacobs and his team were preparing his Jet Dragster for its assault on the overall world land speed record in Verneukpan, Northern Cape, South Africa. At the time of the incident his Castrol Edge-backed Jet Dragster held the South African land speed record and the standing start 1km Top End record. (Courtsey of Castrol) [7-5-2006]
